Induction Checklist
The Staff Induction Booklet also includes a copy of the Supervisors and Managers Checklist for New Staff (pg 20-22). Your supervisor (or his/her nominee) will go through this checklist with you on your starting day to ensure that you have all the resources and information necessary for you to commence your employment. Please make note of any points that are not completed on your commencement day so that these can be followed up efficiently.
Occupational Health and Safety
(OH&S) -
No matter what position you have in the Faculty, OH&S
is an important part of your induction. Please make sure
you read the OH&S section of your induction manual carefully
(pg 14-15) as it is important that you understand how the
system works.
The University has safety policies, procedures and guidelines
for a wide range of activities, and these can be found on
the website: http://www.admin.utas.edu.au/hr/ohs/ohs.html
Your supervisor will go through some of the these with
you, however you should also meet your Schools Safety
Officer, who can clarify any concerns.
Safety Officers for the FHS Schools are listed below.
In addition to the School Safety Officers, there are also
Elected Safety Representatives (ESRs) for each work
area. ESRs are your representative in the Universitys
safety system, so please ask to be introduced to the ESR
for your area as early as possible.
School/Faculty Websites
Each of the Schools in the Faculty of Health Sciences has
its own website, as does the Faculty itself. The website
contains information on all staff members and facilities,
and also houses important resources for staff and students.
We advise that you spend some time familiarizing yourself
with the relevant website.
Staff information is entered
under People
It is important that your information be entered onto the
relevant school website as soon as possible after you commence.
This will allow other staff to get to know you quickly.
Please use the appropriate link below to access the data
form for
web page entry, and forward to the email address for your
School, listed below. Please note that these entries can
be updated at any time simply by making the appropriate
changes and forwarding to the addresses listed for your
workplace.
