Welcome to the Faculty of Health Science Research Page

The Faculty of Health Science conducts research of international importance in a number of fields and offers students opportunities to undetake research in a broad range of methodologies including:

  • Medical science research in laboratory based environments, including research into diabetes, neuroscience, cancer and immunology, cardio-respiratory disease, pharmaceutical science and the physiological and biochemical effects of diet and exercise.
  • Patient-based research, particularly through the Centre for Clinical Research.
  • Epidemiological research, particularly though the Menzies Centre for Population Health Research.
  • Sociological research, through the School of Nursing and, in a rural context, through the University Department of Rural Health and Discipline of General Practice.
  • Professional practice research, including that in nursing, pharmacy and medicine and through programs in the quality use of medicines.
