The Faculty of Health Science conducts research
of international importance in a number of fields and offers
students opportunities to undetake research in a broad range
of methodologies including:

Medical science research in laboratory based environments, including research into diabetes, neuroscience, cancer and immunology, cardio-respiratory disease, pharmaceutical science and the physiological and biochemical effects of diet and exercise.

Patient-based research, particularly through the Centre for Clinical Research.

Epidemiological research, particularly though the Menzies
Centre for Population Health Research.

Sociological research, through the School of Nursing
and, in a rural context, through the University Department
of Rural Health and Discipline of General Practice.

Professional practice research, including that in nursing,
pharmacy and medicine and through programs in the quality
use of medicines.
